Original Republic Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the John English and William Witney science fiction adventure fantasy, ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN MARVEL (1941) starring Tom Tyler, Frank Coghlan Jr., and William Benedict. Many critics consider this 12 episode serial to be the best serial ever made, and most would agree that the film is certainly one of the best comic book adaptations ever made. The special effects were astonishing for the time; moreover, the film had great stunt work, excellent fight sequences, and very innovative cliffhangers. This is the one sheet for Chapter 3 of the serial, Time Bomb. This poster is unique in the series of CAPTAIN MARVEL one sheets in that it shows in the inset photo Billy Batson, Captain Marvel's alter ego, played in the series by Frank Coghlan, Jr. Famous western star Tom Tyler played the superhero. This was the twenty first serial produced by Republic PIctures, the studio generally regarded to be the best serial producer. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in fine plus condition.
