Description
MGM Original Italian Four Sheet 79x55 Linen backed. Fine Condition restored to Very Fine Art by Ercole Brini.
Original MGM Italian Four Foglio for the film ADVENTURE starring Clark Gable, Greer Garson, Joan Blondell and Thomas Mitchell. It was 1945 and many of the leading men in Hollywood films were returning from military service during World War II. Among them was Clark Gable. MGM prepared the American advertising for this film with the tagline "Gable's back and Garson's Got Him!" Victor Fleming was Gable's favorite director and MGM was happy to provide him for this picture. The movie is a mixture of comedy, drama and a fine sentimentality. Garson plays a straightlaced librarian living in San Francisco and Gable is a merchant marine who falls for her - at first somewhat reluctantly, but then completely. It's at least a two-hankie film and Greer Garson is at her loveliest-best. The film also features a wonderful performance by Thomas Mitchell as a seaman-buddy of Gables. Add to that the spunk of Joan Blondell and you have this beautiful postwar dramedy. The art of this poster is by Ercole Brini. The poster has some distresses and some missing paper in the white background area. It has been expertly restored and presents beautifully. Very rare.
